Alternative Medicine Naturopathic Doctor
John Lynch, N.D. is a naturopathic doctor licensed by the State of California. Licensed naturopathic doctors are medical school trained doctors of alternative medicine. Alternative medicine is the practice of medicine using nutrition, herbs, homeopathy, supplements and other forms of natural health care. To be licensed by the state of California to practice naturopathic medicine a doctor needs to attend an approved naturopathic medical school, including a naturopathic medical internship and pass board examinations. Dr. Lynch is a cancer survivor and graduate of Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona where he was trained in the use of both natural and conventional medicine. Entrance requirements to Southwest include a pre-med education comparable to entrance requirements for a conventional medical school. Dr. Lynch's education included the same medical school sciences as a conventional medical school with comparable hours, such as Anatomy with human cadaver lab, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, and the full range of other medical school sciences. The instructors at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine have doctorate level degrees in their area of expertise. The clinical education includes an internship supervised by naturopathic and medical doctors, acupuncturists and chiropractors, depending on the clinical area studied. Dr. Lynch's clinical education included areas such as Oncology, Gastroenterology, Gynecology, Pulmonology and a full range of other primary care sciences. As a licensed naturopathic doctor, Dr. Lynch has been trained as a natural, alternative medicine, naturopathic nutritionist. Dr. Lynch began his personal interest and study of nutrition in 1968 at the age of 12. He became involved in living foods and cleansing in 1976.
